I really think they havent. Sure, a lot of people prefer the old ways. A few of em are residents of ARC. However, i dont. I think that synchros have opened a whole new chapter into YGO. For example, people need to think of ways to combat the fact that a really high level monster with a beasting effect and a lot of attack (scrap dragon) which makes them better. Plus, a lot of new archetypes wouldnt have been made if not for synchs (Meklord, Scraps, Morphtronics)

As I always said, I played YGO since the days where Blue-e-white dragon was the best monster in the game. I liked it. When the Syncs came out, my reaction was: "Nooo, they're ruining my game" (ps that's also my reaction now towards Xyz monsters, but we'll see they might end up being a good thing). However, after getting used to them, I think synchro monsters is one Genius addition to the game of YGO. They sped up the game, they lead to the invention of the concept of a limited extra deck (which really now is an important part of any deck build), and added a lot more $$$ to the Konami fat cats lol. So it worked out for everyone.

I can assure that XYZ ( exceed) monsters arent gonna ruin that awesome game Wink
here's why:
1- New cards so im happy to find new combos Wink
2- New startegies to build ( you can no longer think only of synchros when a tuner is on the field so it might get more difficult to beat someone)
3-There is still an extra deck size limit so they will have to choose all of their best combos if they want to make a well-balanced deck
4- The one thing that can really mess that game are rules like gusto birds that cant use their effects if there synching supposedly because they miss the timing but in my opinion synchro summon and monster being sent to grave are at the same time >.>( altough i really doubt that rules ...)

One of my few problems with Xyz mosnters is how easy they are to summon because they don't require the equivalent of a tuner to summon.
For example, a card like Tour Guide From the Underworld will become an automatic Xyz 3 when you summon it and summon another copy of it using its effect.
Another example: hero decks will become infested with Xyz 4 monsters.
And so on and so on. That's why it's logical to think that Xyz won't be good for the game, but like everything that has changed we'll have to adapt to it.

If tour thingy does let you get instant lvl 3 exceed then you can imagine how usefull your traps will be + new traps will come out to prevent spamming Wink Konami ain't fool enough to go and let everyone spamm the field with XYZ. They'll bann all of the spammed just like brio and goyo. Then again we indeed have to adapt to this new style of play. If they try to spamm me with XYZs ill make them taste the blade of my all mighty Frozen Fitzgerald Wink

Yeah Xyz do seem kinda overpowered, however,im with Sky. Konami will bring out apporpriate rules and ban lists to counter em, plus new cards

I dont like the fact of having to use certain cards to lock down just Xyz's though

Well we always do with other cards like necrovalley to seal synchro/swarming from grave. Or even 3x Solemn and Torrential tribute + mirror + bottomless if needed. Really there are cards out there that helps you no matter what is the situation Wink

Xyz cards still are going to do some massive damage to the game. There will be cards to stop them and make them less broken. But come on Konami Always makes new cards that are broken beyond hell. So the game probably will be killed here and there until banlists and such come out.

Yeah but Xyz are easy in my opinion too... You can get Xyz monsters just by making a union deck with VWXYZ monsters and frontline thingy XD

i know and the combo is all about any union lvl 4 monster + frontline base+ normal summon any lvl 4 monster then boom xyz summon of grade 4 like #39 Wink

About xyz monsters:

Hmmm I cant say until we see them.

Snychros:

Well.....I know that the Spellcaster ones have helped me a lot to get out s of d magic onto the field many times. And there more helpful then Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl, or other level 6 and above Spellcasters. And it's easier to pull off if you think about it. However, some of those cards should be limited to 1. Or even theirs effects, Brio dragon in my opinion should be like this;

"Select 1 card in your hand and send it to the graveyard. Then select 1 card your opponent controls and return it to their hand. This effect can only be activated once per turn."

The "once per turn" text should be on many other cards as well.......

Yeah, thank you for understanding. One card beats synchros for good and xyz, but I dont want to run it in my deck, it'll be a disadvantage to myself as well.

Skill Drain.....

However, I'm looking forward for some new spellcaster support cards. Wonder wand works wonders with:

App magician + Crystal Seer (or App magician again if your going to be attacked again etc) then flip Seer in your turn, to draw 2 then return 1 of those cards to the bottom of deck. By now, you have gained a +2, normal draw and effect to draw. Then use Wonder Wand onto Seer, and if you have a Magical Exemplar on field that's 2sc. Then use effect of Wonder wand to gain another handy +2. That +2 might be another spell card for Exemplar. If not, use effect to sp summon App magician, Exemplar gains 1sc. and if App magician gets destroyed, bring out an Old V magician, or maybe another Seer from deck.

^ This is what I've been doing lately!!! ^

So far I know of 2 spellcaster xyz monsters, and guess what? They arnt even worth your time to summon them.... I do hope that counter cards will be made. And guess what, they'll be effects such as:

"if this card is used for a xyz summon..................." etc I bet....
